The 6th class of Mercury International Students paid a courtesy visit to Governor Kabashima (September 2022)

On September 1, 2022, the 6th class of mercury research students paid a courtesy visit to the Governor together with the President, professors, and current mercury research students to report on the results of their research to date, in conjunction with their graduation with a degree (doctoral program).

President Tsutsumi said, “With the generous support of the Governor and various related prefectural government agencies, I am relieved that we have been able to produce a steady stream of degree recipients up to this year. I would like to express my gratitude for your past support of the Mercury International Student Program and ask for your continued support in the future”. Mr. Willy Chaya Nugraha (from Indonesia) presented “Research on Mercury Management Methods and Mr. Sylvester Addai Arhin (from Ghana) presented Research on Mercury Food Contamination and Health Effects in Ghana”.

?Governor Ikuo Kabashima said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the students for their research efforts during a limited period of time amid the effects of COVID-19. There is a mercury contamination problem in other countries, and I am glad that we created this program, as the research of mercury exchange students will be useful in the future. Please consider Kumamoto as your second home. I look forward to your future activities”.
